It's morning, and I sit on the red couch. I've already been up for a while, nearly two hours. I don't have work at the museum today, but I will head into Manhattan for class this late-afternoon. I woke up in the disorientation of believing I was still in a makeshift boat in Italy, finally reaching the 'water airport' after paddling 'til my arms tired. In my dream I had lost my waterbottle, so when I saw it's cylindrical shape waiting faithfully beside the bed I was overcome with gratitude to return to my own life, though the water airport was quite appealing.
I feel I am living this week with more intention, with the intention I always ascribed to my 'one day future self.' I am moving my body, stretching morning and night, out on the basketball court, moving the ants out of the house, no more red meat, no more scrolling, I'm wearing sunscreen, I've ditched the plastic water bottles, we've started composting. I quite like it, just as I always imagined I would! Funny how that works, all it takes is starting.
I'll finish my homework, walk to the library to print it (along with my backlog of journal entries), I'll read a bit of M Train, I'll practice my languages. I'll go to class, maybe I'll go to the gym after.
