On Thursday I went to the Cloisters from Stamford. On Friday, from Bed Stuy. I walked from our apartment down Greene, said hi to Cat and sat on the floor with Romy and Alma. I walked around a bit more after, and went to Home Frite for a cheeseburger before making my way up to Inwood. Rachel was in Inwood for work too. The commute was long and slow. It was okay though. Work involved setting up lots of fake candles. We all shared an uber back to The Met, where we unloaded the equipment. Then, finally, home sweet home.
After the Saturday 'Women in Lutherie' event, I set out for Flushing. I think I'd never been there before. It was nice to be on the 7, the part where it's above ground. I feel somewhat of a nostalgia for LIC, in a bizarre way, since I really did not enjoy living there. I had a headache on Saturday, and C's birthday was in a very loud karaoke place, which would have been very fun, if not for my aforementioned headache. I left to get advil, and Rach followed. I told her she should stay, but she insisted! We stopped for a quick bowl of soup on the way back, right across from the karaoke place. Except, the soup truly smelled like the OB tidepools.
After the party we took the 7 to the 1/2/3, and Rachel headed home, and I ran over to meet J and S and A and P and J's friend J.
11:38am
At the bar, a table full of Guinness, we talked about lots of exciting things. It was fun. A interrogated J's friend J. It was all so fun. I came home, slept, and was up for work the next morning.
Sunday at work, I drew, and after work, oh what did we do? Oh yeah, I picked up groceries, rach had her meeting for class and I did some woodworking... And then off to work again Monday morning. 9-5 at the Met, and it was such a nice surprise to see Syma there. We even also ran into Monique, and Monique told Syma that Syma is her inspiration. It was all very beautiful and touching, except Syma didn't really remember Monique, and Monique didn't remember how to pronounce Syma's name. That all made me enjoy it even more. Syma sat in the office with me and I showed her my drawings. She's awesome.
After work on Monday, I stopped by Phoebe's apartment. It's fun to stop by. We were supposed to get dinner, but there was an impending wind storm (that didn't end up happening until late into the night, so it would have been okay anyways...) But it was fun, we ate snap peas, she ate them with chopsticks, my fingers got all greasy and I saw the benefit of using chopsticks. I had instagram on my phone on Monday, to try and find the details about the animation night, and that's the only day I've looked at it in over a month now I think. Left Phoebe's and headed home. R had an incident on the train. We ordered Luck Thai and watched Sex and the City.
Yesterday also worked 9-5. I love how R and I wave to each other form the windows, one and then the next. After work I met P at her office, and we went to Eataly, which was so funny, because who really goes there for a sandwich, but we did, we bought sandwiches and sat and ate them, these high school boys ate whole chickens and this strange couple was causing a PDA scene, and we ate our sandwiches, and then we set out for Williamsburg, a sandwich for Rachel in tow.
In the end rather than staying for the animations, we left, and found some frozen yogurt, which I think was even more fun. I was kind of happy about it actually.
And now, today, 9-5 at the museum again.
